If you've found your way to this page, you've probably spent some serious time profanitizing at the thought of having to design all those sexy wedding albums for all your gorgeous clients. Either you despise creating albums in general and the billions of client changes that come with it, or you love the creation process but loathe the time it takes away from things like the latest Netflix binge and the amount of vacations you'd love to be taking - and you're torn between gritting your teeth and smiling through the pain and just saying "OK - that's it. I am fresh out of fucks and just seriously can't even. Somebody else do this. PLEASE. I need a nap. Immediately."
I understand. And I can help.
Want to get a clean, classic album design on the books while you're sipping coffee or chai at the beach, reading Eat, Pray, Love and working on your Vitamin D levels? Or while scaling that killer crux on the next monster climb on your list? Or at 11 p.m., while sucking down the last drop of pinot and cursing your way through baking those goddamn rainbow tie-dye cupcakes that you TOTALLY forgot about for your kid's classroom birthday party tomorrow (because fuck you, PInterest)? Or maybe while you just slather yourself in Cheetos dust and watch the entire marathon of "Breaking Bad" while doing The Hustle and trying to determine if it's even worth putting on pants?
Totally possible*. Let's talk.
Album Design - final jpeg or PSD files : $5 / page, $10 / spread
Album design includes creation of sexy, clean, classic digital files with final, fully edited images supplied by you. It does not include any retouching work - if there are specific things you need edited on items, like dust spot removal or similar, it must be specified on the order form, and will be charged accordingly. See below for specifics on that. Design is based on your specifications, and those of the album company of your choosing. Price includes either final, high res jpeg files or PSD files - whichever you prefer. Base price also includes one round of minor changes - cropping, straightening, etc., and up to 5 image swaps between pages. Additional changes + proofs will be charged at $5 per page. Please note that once you and the client have approved the album, any/all changes that have been made, and files have been released to the printer, I cannot be held responsible for any problems or issues that arise with the album files. Please check your final album files carefully before submitting them to the printer.
Just one thing : I like to design clean albums. I prefer not to screen images or use colors in the background. I will, if asked - but ONLY if I feel it doesn't distract from the other photos and the overall design. To me, the point of an album is to create a design that tells the story of the day and lets the photography shine. If an element doesn't add to the overall design, it must, at the very least, not distract from it. Just something to keep in mind. If you generally use things like text overlays, floral graphics and other elements as an overall theme throughout your album designs, that's totally cool - but I'm probably not the designer for you. I prefer to give the real estate to the stunning photos you've taken, and let the photography speak for itself.
Album Design - InDesign : $7.50 / page, $15 / spread
All other information regarding standard design charges applies as above; only the base design fee differs. Changes and proofing charges are $5 per page.
Magical Pixel Maneuvering (Retouching) - $To be determined
If you need some pixel magic worked on your photos in conjunction with an album build, I'm your Huckleberry. If you've done any work in Photoshop, you know that circumstances vary wildly - sometimes from photo to photo. So I've done my best to break this down for you in the simplest way possible. Every image is subject to review, so you'll know what I estimate the investment to be ahead of time.
- Simple edits like a removing a couple of dust spots or pimples or straight-forward skin softening, teeth whitening or eye brightening - $2 - $5 per image.
- Edits that require a bit more work like softening shadows and lines under the eyes, facelifts, swapping heads and selective masking, dodging and burning, etc. - $8 per image
- Removing Grandpa or Uncle Teddy from an image completely? Or perhaps digital liposuction? That's a different story - and is billed at $50 per hour, in 15 minute increments.
*Album design orders are typically happening between January and June. After that, my post-processing clients get busy with wedding shoots and shit tends to get real in a hurry around here. If you have an album order that falls between June and December, there's a possibility that availability may be limited. Contact me and we'll talk!
